Crest was originally simply the name of a brand of toothpaste developed by a major manufacturer of pharmaceutical and beauty products, Proctor & Gamble. They launched the Crest toothpaste in the 1950s, after first coming up with the idea in the post-war years, and over the decades the brand has expanded to incorporate a range of toothpastes and other oral hygiene products.
Crest continue to develop new products thanks to research that they either carry out by themselves or in association with the toothbrush manufacturer, Oral B. They have even developed lesson plans for teachers to help educate children about oral health as well as providing a range of kid toothbrushes and oral hygiene products.
The company now doesn’t just sell toothpaste; you can also buy Crest mouthwashes, toothbrushes, dental floss and even home whitening kits. The name has become one of the biggest brands in oral hygiene, with products that are available in all High Street stores and supermarkets.
